1. Diet Plan for 6 month old babies:

Your little one is just going to start solids so it’s better to offer light and soft foods. 1 or 2 tablespoons 3 times a day is sufficient.
• Breakfast:
Boiled, mashed and pureed fruits.
Baby cereals.

• Lunch:
Boiled and mashed vegetable puree

1. Apple Puree with cinnamon:
Ingredients:
Apple-1
Water
Cinnamon powder a pinch

Method:
a. Boil apple in water.
b. Now blend the boiled apple in mixture jar.
c. Add a pinch of cinnamon powder to this pureed apple.
d. Serve it to your little munchkin.

2. Diet plan for 7-12 months babies:

Your baby has started recognizing the taste and flavors. Now it’s time for adding more textures.

• Breakfast:
Unsweetened yogurt with mashed fruit puree.
Oatmeal cereals
Soups of pulses and lentils

• Lunch:
Boiled potato stripes
Soft cooked dalia
Mashed paneer
Unsweetened yogurt with mashed strawberries

• Dinner:
Mashed sweet potatoes with mashed carrots
Soft chunks of broccoli or beans
Boiled and mashed kidney beans

Recipe Ideas

1. Ragi Apple Porridge
Ingredients:
Ragi Flour
Apple- ½
Ghee 1 teaspoon
Water

Method:
a. Cut and peel apple into small cubes. Steam it in water and mash it well to a smooth paste.
b. In a pan mix water and ragi flour to a smooth paste and cook it in low flame.
c. Add apple puree to this mixture and cook further for 5 minutes.
d. Add a teaspoon of ghee and serve.

2. Lentil Soup:
Ingredients:
Red lentils 3 tbsp
Carrot 1
Onion ½
Water as required
Oil 1sp

Method:
a. Finely chop onion and carrot.
b. Heat oil in a pan and add onion and carrot. Cook till they turn translucent.
c. Add lentils to the pan.
d. Pour water and cook till lentils turn soft.
e. Cool down completely, and puree it.
f. Warm and serve.

Tips before you start feeding

1. Do not feed your baby forcefully.
2. Always wait for three days after introducing a new food. This gives time to react to the food and show if the baby has allergic issues.
3. Always try to keep a dedicated place for feeding. This helps establishing proper eating habit.
4. Try giving your baby finger foods to encourage them.
5. Avoid distraction while feeding.
