I have always loved the princely state of Rajasthan. It’s one of the most fascinating holiday destinations and the most visited states of India. Last year, this was the time when we were having a great stay at Rajasthan. We visited for my cousin’s wedding and ended up having a lavish holiday there. Trust me, it’s a great place to experience the luxurious and opulent life of the royals. There are majestic palaces, imposing forts, beautiful gardens and many ancient temples to visit. The never ending list of attractions is certainly spectacular and spellbinding.

The state is full of colors and the food there is lip smacking. I fell in love with that place and never wanted to come back to my native. The forts, the camels, the dessert, the elephants- oh that was so lovely. So guys, if you want to spend some luxurious and relaxing time in Rajasthan here’s a quick tour of the places you can’t afford missing.

1. Ranthambore National Park: If you are a tiger lover than this place is one of the best places to spot a tiger in the wild. Ranthambore is easily accessible and you can reach there in no hustle. You can also spot the famous Ranthambore fort along with the natural beauty. The fort is really huge and contains many monuments and hindu temples. It shows history and has witnessed many battles along with the rise and fall of many rulers.

2. Bikaner: I am very fond of camel safaris and this was the main reason for visiting this place. Bikaner is the remote desert town and attracts a handsome tourism. What I loved the most about Bikaner was the quirkiest festival of worshiping rats. Yeah! People there worship rats at Karni Mata Rat temple. If you want to have an unforgettable trip, plan a stay at Narendra Bhawan heritage hotel.

3. Pushkar: A sleepy little holy town known for its bathing ghats and markets. It attracts a lots or hippies and backpackers. If you are planning a visit, October or November are the best months. During this time, Pushkar Camel Fair hits the town and you can witness an old traditional festival. Don’t forget to visit the local market for some great handcrafted stuff.

4. Jaisalmer: A sandstone city that rises magically from the sand dunes of the Thar desert. It’s a mesmerizing city and looks straight out of an Arabian Nights fable. It has a spellbinding ancient fort which was built in 1156. Jaisalmer has several temples, exquisite temples and palaces.

5. Mount Abu: A beautiful hill station in Rajasthan situated 4000 feet above sea level. It is near Gujarat border and about 160km away from Udaipur. This place has a comfortable climate and fascinating scenic view. Best spot to plan a honeymoon and an offbeat destination for foreigners.

Food at Rajasthan:

The best regional cuisine that boasts the royal tradition and culture. Rajasthani food is centered around the use of spices and chilles. You will get many scrumptious dishes to satisfy your taste buds. Daal baati, churma, laal maas, ghevar, bajra roti, gatte ki sabzi, ker sangri are some of the famous food items that you must not miss on your visit to this beautiful place.
